Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Central to FosterEd is continuous, data-driven improvement and evaluation. Outcome metrics are regularly collected, analyzed, and used to drive system-level decisions.
• System data: We conduct periodic audits and stakeholder interviews to ascertain changes to the systems serving children and youth in care.
• Educational champion data: We work with state partners and external evaluators to develop metrics and processes for measuring the beliefs, capacities and behaviors of educational champions proven linked to educational success.
• Education outcome data: Most jurisdictions do not know how foster children are performing in school. We help agencies establish data-sharing policies and memorandums of understanding (MOUs), making possible the collection of important metrics such as attendance, GPA, suspension and expulsion rates, standardized test scores, school stability, and graduation rates.
