An initiative of:
Indiana Outcomes
• Improved outcomes: FosterEd's Marion County pilot project has helped hundreds of foster children obtain needed educational services and supports.
• Improved capacity: FosterEd's Education Experts have conducted numerous trainings; 100% of participants have reported these trainings to be helpful for their job and helpful for children. Trainees include social workers, social work supervisors, foster parents, biological parents, attorneys and child support professionals.
• Improved systems: The success of FosterEd's Marion County pilot has led the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) to embed, operate and fund the project. FosterEd is on track to be adopted and funded as a statewide program by DCS by the end of 2012.
California Outcomes
• Improved outcomes: FosterEd led the successful effort to preserve and improve California's Foster Youth Services program, a program proven to improve the educational outcomes of foster children.
• Improved capacity: For many years, FosterEd has conducted numerous trainings to stakeholders throughout California and provides ongoing assistance through our California website www.FosterEdConnect.org.
• Improved systems: FosterEd created and facilitates California's Improving Educational Outcomes for Children in Care (IEOCC) team, a workgroup of California's State Interagency Team for Children, Youth and Families. The IEOCC includes leadership from California's Department of Education, Department of Child Services, Child Welfare Directors Association and Administrative Office of the Courts.
